About Us
Tell Your Story
Dena is a filmmaker and founder of Butterfly Road Productions located in Kansas City.
She founded the company in 2018 and works as a Producer, Director, and Filmmaker.
Since then, she has completed four films three of which are short documentaries. Her passion is telling compelling, passionate and hopeful stories that can inspire her audience. Her first documentary “Finding Peace” was selected for seven film festivals across the country and won a Best Short Documentary award. Her second film “Mildred’s Escape, A WW2 Survival Story” has been selected for seven film festivals and won three awards including Best Documentary and Best Local Film,. Her most recent documentary “Small Town Girl, Big Heart” Abby’s Courage was shot on location in Houston, Texas and has been selected for six film festivals and has won seven awards including Best Inspirational Film.
Dena's latest film is a feature documentary about broadcaster Art Hains called "Voice Unbroken".
This film has an original score and will be premiering in Springfield, MO., Kansas City and Marshall, MO. this Fall.
