About Us
Tell Your Story
Dena is a filmmaker and founder of Butterfly Road Productions located in Kansas City.
She founded the company in 2018 and works as a Producer, Director, and Filmmaker.
Dena started acting in musical theater and signed with a talent agent in 2016. She has acted in local and regional films, commercials and corporate videos. She served on the Theater in the Park Advisory Board and Exective Board for several years and was President in 2017.
In 2018 she decided that she had heard enough compelling stories that she wanted to tell and started her production company, Butterfly Road Productions.
Since then, she has completed four films three of which are short documentaries. Her passion is telling compelling, passionate and hopeful stories that can inspire her audience. Her first documentary “Finding Peace” was selected for seven film festivals across the country and won a best short documentary award. Her most recent film “Mildred’s Escape, A WW2 Survival Story” has been selected for seven film festivals and won three awards so far. Her most recent documentary “Small Town Girl, Big Heart” Abby’s Courage was shot on location in Houston, Texas and has been selected for three film festivals including the Kansas City Filmiest International.
She currently serves as the Vice President of Women in Film and Media Kansas City.
